Statement of Principles

Nevada government keeps getting bigger and BIGGER. We deserve minimum, strictly limited, constitutional government in this State.

Forget all this blather about a $3B "shortfall". The budget for the '12/'13 biennium should be no more than $200M.

Mark Amodei

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

The Nevada Republican Party elected state Sen. Mark Amodei as its new chairman

Amodei is BIG government all-the-way. He wouldn't recognize a small-government candidate if one came along dressed up in a Don't Tread on Me! constume.

Maybe next time the GOP will choose Reid.

Party Chair is all about keeping the donors happy. That means recruiting candidates who will implement the donors' agenda. Donors are generally special interests who benefit from government favors. Is it any surprise then that *both* major political parties support BIG government?

The Democrats and Republicans are like the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks. Different sides of the same Socialist coin.

GOP Tactics: All Wrong!

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

GOP tactics are *all* wrong.

Their political ("how to get elected") consultants advise them to talk small government and vote BIG. That's a choice between Goldman or Sachs, but it's enough to win >80% of their increasingly senile membership's votes.

To the restless, small government wing of the party, they say Support us! Wait 'til we're in the *majority*. That's Charlie Brown, Lucy and the football. 25 years ago NJ Republicans won a veto-proof majority in Trenton. What did they do?

Answer: NOTHING.

The GOP maintained control of the House for ~12 years. What did they do?

Answer: make govenment BIGGER.

The Republicans stand for *nothing* except "not Democrat". Nice to know we can count on them to deliver small government.

Pete Goicoechea: RINO

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

Several Assembly Republicans said they supported the spending in the budget but not the particular tax increases being used to pay for it, particularly the payroll tax.

"Although I never totally reached accord as far as the type of revenue we needed, I do support and worked with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to develop a budget that will ... at least sustain essential services," said Assemblyman Pete Goicoechea, R-Eureka.

Can you believe this RINO?! I smoked but I didn't inhale. What's the point of voting FOR bigger government and AGAINST higher taxes? Higher spending has to paid for somehow. I oppose BIG government and the high taxes necessary to fund it. The only "essential" services are the one mandated by the Constitution:

  1. Three branches
  2. Milita
  3. One public school per district (18 statewide)
  4. Three University Departments (Mining, Agriculture, and Engineering)
  5. Prisons
  6. Juvenile Hall
  7. Institutions for the Mental Cases and Physically Handicapped
and that's it! Everything else is WASTE, and should be ELIMINATED. Small, constitutional government could be funded for only $100M per year, and probably less.

Horsefurd Lobbies For Employment Training. His Own Firms Stands To Benefit.

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

Horseford wants to use stimulus funds to train about 3,200 workers, including unemployed people, at an average cost of $3,500

You know this crook Horsefurd owns an employment training firm, don't you? You know that the unions support him, don't you? You know that "prevailing wage" protects union workers from low-priced competition. Of course you knew that Republican senators all voted YEA.
