Statement of Principles

Nevada government keeps getting bigger and BIGGER. We deserve minimum, strictly limited, constitutional government in this State.

Forget all this blather about a $3B "shortfall". The budget for the '12/'13 biennium should be no more than $200M.

Busybody Judge Hears PLAN's Petition

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

PLAN is hard left. Throwbacks to the Soviet Krushchev era. Even their name reveals their propensity toward central planning.

PLAN is an anti-Capitalist, extreme environmentalist group. Of course they want to ruin natural resource firms wherever they be. But PLAN would just as soon ruin big box stores, banks, casinos, auto manufacturers; anything which smacks of capitalism.

PLAN is supported by AFSCME, SEIU, NSEA, NOW, PP. The usual suspects. They're even supported by the NV Shakespeare Company -- a NEA recipient! Your tax dollars at work. Individual donors include

  • Chris Giunchigliani ($250)
  • Jan Jones ($1,000)
  • Sheila Leslie ($250; "Sustained Giver & PLAN Hero")
  • Renee Ruiz ($100; "Sustained Giver")
  • Frankie Sue Del Papa ($100)
  • David R. Parks ($100)
(Source: PLAN newsletter)

Hey Fulkerson. Why don't you share with us the names of some of your other high profile donors?

As much as I oppose this future ballot initiative the lawyers involved here are even *more* contemptible.
The crooked state judges have NO constitutional authority to review -- meaning reject -- ballot initiatives which seek to Amend the NSC. Certainly not *before* the people have had a chance to vote YES/NO. Not *ever*. Their only role is to referee that that votes were properly counted. Government by the lawyers for the lawyers.

The initiative process was created to bypass roadblocks the special interests always set up to thwart unfriendly bills emanating from the normal legislative process. Here we have lawyers fighting over what sort of language the voters will be allowed to consider. What are we? Too stupid to figure out what it means by ourselves?!

Ross Miller is supposed to be the only public official who has any say about who/what gets on the ballot. Suing him over obvious errors in process in one thing. But a bunch of lawyers should not be able to frivolously and arbitrarily challenge (and even reverse) his decisions. This is legal tyranny.

Note: I do not own shares in (or receive any money from) natural resource firms. I oppose BIG government and the high taxes necessary to pay for it.

Not Paying Their Fair Share

Originally posted in a LVRJ forum.

Gold *above* ground is worth ~$1,100/oz. Gold *below* ground in a proven mine is worth $1,100/oz minus cost of production. The Mother Lode yet to be discovered in Eureka County is worth ZERO. Those early(est?) stages of production are where Gold Mining companies come in, so get off this Communist notion that the miners are "robbing us", or that we're being "plundered" by foreigners. It's not like these companies are excavating entire mountains intact and hauling them down to Argentina!

PLAN'ing For Higher Mining Taxes (and Bigger Government)

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

These PLAN thugs are *hard* core Socialists. Atavists from the Soviet era. That is why so many prominent state Democrats donate to them.

Democracy is NOT supposed to equal MOB RULE. No new taxes on mining firms. No mucking with their accounting rules. I don't own any shares in natural resource companies. I oppose BIG government and the high taxes necessary to pay for it. For every dollar the government taxes it *spends* $1.10.

I
propose a ballot initiative to impose a 10% excise tax on any money donated to PLAN.

The problem in this state (as in the rest of the country) is excessive government spending. If we had small government in this state the biennial budget would only need to be $100M/yr (and probably less). *Existing* mining taxes plus ~3 weeks of sales taxes would cover it.

Tax receipts are currently running ~$2.4B/yr. The crooked politicians should REBATE ~$2.3B of that to us directly instead of redistributing it in the form of vote-buying pork. That works out to ~$1,000 per adult resident.

Feel free to donate your share to PLAN (-10%). I have my eyes on a wide screen TV.

Raggio Against Mining (For BIG Government)

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

[Raggio] said legislators could change the definition of net proceeds and potentially reduce the number of deductions

RINO Raggio has a personal financial stake in BIG government. His law firm does legal work for the state and lobbying work for firms that need its favors. Nothing will bring out campaign bucks and lobbying fees for Raggio from our domestic mining industry like messing with their tax rules.

PLAN favors central planning out of the Soviet era. They oppose free markets. They support COLOSSAL government and wacky environmentalism. That is why so many prominent DEMs in this state donate to them.

We have one-party rule in this state. The left wing Socialists and the right wing Socialists.

CCEA Whining

Originally posted in a LVRJ forum

CCSD teachers are such whiners. Boo Hoo. I have a license, a graduate degree and 10+ years experience yet I still only get paid HALF of what a BJ dealer makes ..

Get over it! A buxom cocktail waitress with a high school diploma who makes $12,000 per month is providing 4X as much value to this economy than a plain-jane educated teacher making $3,000. Don't give me any of this nonsense about "priorities", "equity", blah blah blah. Instead of wasting your money on tuition maybe you should have invested in cosmetic surgery.

I used to work with an ex-teacher who TRIPLED her salary upon entering my 100% private sector field -- and she wasn't that pretty.

PLAN Anti-capitalism

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

[PLAN] said an earlier study for his organization found that a 6 percent personal income tax on people earning more than $200,000 a year would bring in $1.1 billion a year.

We could have small government in this state for only $80M/yr. Mining taxes plus 2-3 weeks of sales taxes would cover it. This state has a somewhat regressive tax structure, but a highly destructive *spending* structure.

PLAN is a BIG government extremist group. That is why so many prominent state Democrats contribute to it.

Jan Jones: Casino Mouthpiece For BIG Government

Originally posted in a LVRJ Forum

In a letter to lawmakers, Harrah's Senior Vice President Jan Jones said that Nevada must compete with other destinations for the growing gay and lesbian business

Jan Jones is just another crook who profits from her political connections. Did you know that Jones is a financial supporter of that super left wing front organization known as PLAN? wiki says she sits on the Board of the US Chamber of Commerce. Does that have anything to do with the local Chamber pushing for higher state taxes and spending? The Chamber of Big Government.
