CCSD Grant Writing

Consultants to the CCSD Contractors

Charter schools are PUBLIC schools. They are government funded. So are "magnet" schools, "empowerment" schools, and all the other structural gimmicks.
Teaching the 3R's to poor kids -- pubic education's original, constitutional role -- is an intrinsically simple and inexpensive task. How many consultants do you need to accomplish it?
BTW. We homeschool. No endless testing. No teaching to the test. No consultants. NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING. Our kids are doing just fine, thanks.

This political hack beancounter Christenson is BIG government all-the-way. I'm so tired of mealy-mouths like him smearing us as "misguided", "extremist", whatever.
Does Christenson have *anything* negative to say about NSHE's funding of Division 1 sports? For instance, UNLV's $1M hoops coach, its $300K Athletic Director, the ridiculous departments maintained to provide jocks -- who get free rides -- with academic cover? Closer to home, does he consider NSC President Maryanski's $250,000 salary to be "misguided"?

According to TransparentNevada, this nincompoop Hardman makes $71,797.20/yr working for our state's education bureaucracy. Money which originated in a multimillion dollar grant from another bureaucracy (US Dept of Education).
Hardman is what public education is all about. Contracts for donors. Grants for political allies. Jobs for friends.

Cancer Researchers For BIG Government

This article nearly caused me to spill my breakfast. As FACT! pointed out (0921) Ruckdeschel makes $1M per year. His friends also well paid. The NCI is a government bureaucracy. The public sector is not supposed to be a place to get rich. This is DISGUSTING.
And why did NCI have to spend $115K on federal lobbying in '08? This is one agency of the government hiring ex-government lawyer officials to get favors out of another agency of government. This is ridiculous.
We don't want Ruckedeschel using his political connections to mooch more money off the federal government -- primarily to feather his own nest. If Ruckdeschel and his gang are so good, they can enter private practice, completely divorced from publicly funded facilities.
None of these jokers wants to discover a cure for cancer. There's too much MONEY at stake.

CCSD: Separate *Is* Equal

A music teacher might be teaching more “music appreciation classes”
McEducation. My kids are homeschooled. They receive best-of-breed music lessons from a very good, competitively priced, private piano teacher. CCSD provides a completely superficial education. Not enough instruments. Really. And what the heck is a "Director of Fine Arts Education"?
There seems to be no instrument shortage for LVA music students. What gives? Separate is *not* equal.
How does CCSD get away with such huge school disparities? Kids in one school receive arts enrichment, but kids in another school get music de-appreciation. If CCSD is going to provide McEducation the least it can do is offer a standard menu.

Uithoven is a leech. His job is to make GOP candidates look good so that they can vote for higher taxes and spending. He makes a nice buck on the deal, too.

Abolish Public Healthcare

Since Article 13 §3 was repealed, counties no longer have any authority to provide welfare -- including public healthcare or "indigent" accident-victim care. The State has no authority to support a public healthcare system, either. Nor does it have the right to impose an unfunded welfare mandate on the counties. This is all just a political turf battle to prop-up unconstitutional spending.
And who the heck is this county leech lobbyist, Jeff Fontaine? Here's a way for the counties to afford more indigent care: stop hiring $400 per hour scum like Fontaine to represent "your" interests. This government lobbying the government for more government is an obscenity. Government agencies should be prohibited from hiring lobbyists!

The legislature should vote out of existence every CCSD school except the constitutional minimum. That's one, by the way. This would be a very reasonable way to achieve adequate public education funding levels.
Public education is a disaster. Who can deny this? 300,000+ students are being ruined each year. Most students learn nothing. Good students receive McEducation. Yet the only solution we ever hear about is "more money" (as much as possible). This benefits the CCEA, a special interest group that donates heavily to Democrats, and large contractors, who give to the GOP. It does ZERO for the kids.
If you believe that all children deserve an education then please stop thinking that public education is the correct approach. It's just another government political-payoff spending program that hurts those it purports to help. You might as well support a government nutrition program that serves foodstuffs out of the compost heap, or a government liberation program that kills you to set you free.
